-Coaches should email over their weekday practice time/location/day when they have that set.  Practices can be set up at North or South Sports Complex, Shawver Park, Beaverbrooke Park, Lions Park, or any other greenspace that is available.  The Grimes South Complex is being used for soccer, North Sports Complex/Waterworks Park is used for Tackle Football so space is limited.

(Ages 5 to Kids Going into Grade 6)

Registration starts July 1 ONLINE at 7pm!
*Deadline is Sept. 14 at 12pm.  Registration will stay open with a late fee of $10 added each late registration.
Dates: Ages 5 - to Grade 6- All Practices start Sunday, September 20 - Sunday, October 25, 2020

Times:

Ages 5 - Kindergarten: This division practices and plays games on Sunday afternoons ONLY
-1:30pm-2:20pm

Grades 1-6: Practices for this age group are 1-2 times per week on Mon/Tues/or Thurs after 5pm (decided by volunteer coaches) and play their games on Sunday afternoons.

Sunday Afternoons (could change based on the # of kids registered)-
-Grade 1: 2:30pm-3:25pm
-Grade 2: 3:30pm- 4:25pm
-Grades 3-4: 4:30pm-5:30pm
-Grades 5-6:- 5:30-6:30pm
Who:

Divisions Include (Grades determined by 2020-2021 School Year)- 
Ages 5 - Going into Kindergarten- use nerf footballs
Going into Grade 1- use pee wee size footballs
Going into Grade 2- use pee wee size footballs
Going into Grades 3/4- use pee wee size footballs
Going into Grade 5/6- use junior size footballs
Cost: Residents- (Those Living in the DCG School District or have a Grimes/Dallas Center address)-
-Ages 5 - Going into GradeK: $50 per player (Sunday practices and games only)
-Going into Grades 1 - 6: $65 per player (Includes at least one practice per week plus games)

Non-Residents-
-Ages 5-K: $60 per player
-Going into Grades 1-6: $75 per player

PLUS-
If you don't have a jersey, you will need to purchase a Red/White Reversible Grimes Parks and Rec Jersey for $15
Location: All games are held Sundays at Lions Park (Located behind Kum and Go on Hwy 44)
Weekday practices for Grades 1-6 are at various parks/greenspaces in Grimes.

-No player requests will be granted to be on the same team unless the parents are coaching together (2 coaches per team).  Please indicate this during registration.  Players will also not be allowed to play up a grade unless they have been approved by the Parks and Rec to do so.  Requests and approval must be received to do this before registering your child.

Description:

This program allows players to play in a recreational atmosphere supervised by parent volunteers.  Teams practice during the week (Grades 1-6) and then play their league games on Sunday afternoons.  Players are assigned to a team randomly so no requests will be taken.  Coaches Meetings will be conducted after the deadline and will give the coaches sample lesson plans, game rules, and a sample playbook.  They will also receive a bag with footballs and flags for their practices.  The Director will contact the volunteer coaches that expressed they could help out during registration.
