Volunteers supplement Parks staff, help benefit the community, and have fun doing projects while meeting new friends, and learning new skills! 

Volunteer Opportunities

Grimes Parks and Rec Programs-
Youth Volleyball- Sept-Oct. Sundays at Heritage Elem, assist supervisor in setting up, help coaches with drills, keep score during games
Youth Basketball- Nov-Jan Saturdays at various schools, keeping score, assisting coaches as needed.
Bam Bam Baseball- May/June/July on Tues/Thurs, help set up and pick up after program at Lions Park
Tiny Kickers Soccer- June/July on Mon/Wed, help set up equipment prior to, help assist the coach (if needed), and pick up after at South Sports Complex
Adult Sports- various programs throughout year, help keep score, setup and pick up after

Grimes Arbor Day Tree Planting- Olivia DeYoung odeyoung@grimesiowa.gov, usually April or May, meet at designated location, assist Tree Board in planting trees
