Public Works Director: $102,880-$138,828 per year.
The City of Grimes seeks motivated applicants to join its team as the Public Works Director. This is a key position that will report to and work closely with the City Administrator and plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities of the Public Works Department, including Streets, Utilities, Parks and Facilities. The Public Works Director will also provide advice, guidance, and policy recommendations to the City Administrator, City Committees/Commissions and the City Council relating to Public Works matters. Additionally, the Director will provide direct leadership, supervision, and support to Public Works staff and contribute to the vision of exceptional City of Grimes public services.
The anticipated salary range is between $102,880 – $138,828/year plus IPERS and generous insurance benefits. Street Technician I/Horticulturalist- 3/4 part time, Starting pay: $18.94 per hour
The Grimes Public Works Department seeks a 3/4 part-time Street Tech and Horticulturalist to assist the Department with independently working during the growing season performing horticultural planning and maintenance tasks, performing school crossing guard duties at the beginning and ending of scheduled school days and helping with snow removal as needed during the winter months.
Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, with a high level of ability with horticultural planning, design, planting, and maintenance and general familiarity with construction equipment and materials and general experience with snow plows and snow clearing equipment.

Development Services: Office Assistant- part time - starting at $15-$17 per hour
To assist the Development Services Coordinator and Development Services Director with all clerical and customer service work performed in the Development Services Department, including but not limited to, workflow of permits, inspections, and development submissions. The anticipated schedule for the position will be four hours per day, falling generally over the lunch hour and middle of day. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, with Associates Degree preferred, one year experience in office coordination/management experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

The Recreation leaders will perform a wide variety of functions in the area of recreation programs.  Work includes helping guide participants to meet recreation program goals, enforcing facility and or program policies and rules and works with other staff members to assist participants.

$8.50-$10.00 per hour
