The City of Grimes is currently looking for City of Grimes residents to fill positions on the Board of Appeals. To apply, please fill out this application.
This board consists of Grimes residents who have experience and training to act on matters pertaining to building construction, property maintenance, fire hazards, explosions, hazardous conditions, or protection systems and who are not employees of the City. Members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by City Council for five-year terms. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term of any member whose term becomes vacant.
The Board of Appeals was created during the 2018 Code Cycle. If you are interested, please fill out an application to be considered. Applications will be reviewed by Development Services then appointed by the Mayor and approved by City Council for five-year terms.
Experience in any of the following fields:
Building Construction Superintendent or Management Role, Real Estate Professional, Attorney, Registered Design Professional, Engineer, Architect, Property Management, Fire Department Officer, or other professions that would give experience and training to act on matters pertaining to building construction, property maintenance, hazards of fire and or hazardous conditions.
