Responsibilities
The Planning Division oversees both long-range and current planning operations within the City. Long-range planning determines how the City will grow and redevelop through land use planning efforts, determining street networks and layouts, and reserving adequate space for parks and trails.
Current planning deals with the day-to-day operations of development, which include:
- Reviewing new site plans for residential and commercial projects
- Issuing zoning-related permits for fences, sheds, and signs
- Updating or creating ordinances and policies related to the built environment
