For Boys & Girls entering Grades 2-6 (2014-2015 school year)

Cost: $90.00 per participant (Includes a club t-shirt)
*Min. number is 10 and max is 30.
Location: Kids will meet at the Grimes South Sports Complex at the South Concession Stand (by the playground).
Registration: Please bring check (payable to Matt Pries) and registration in to the Grimes Community Complex (410 SE Main St.) or mail to DCG Running Club at 410 SE Main Street in Grimes
Description: The DCGRC has been created for several reasons:
-Introduce young children to the sport of running
-Foster a sense of joy in becoming healthy and fit
-Develop confidence and pride
-Provide an opportunity to be part of a team in which all members participate
-Serve as a developmental program for the DCG Cross Country and Track Teams

Coach Pries will cater training to individual needs, though training will be designed for all participants to increase endurance and speed.

Participants and parents will be told of opportunities to participate in fall road races, as well as youth cross country meets in the area.  If possible, arrangements will be made to meet together at such events.  

Kids would need to wear appropriate running clothing, bring a water bottle, and have a good pair of athletic shoes.

Coach Pries serves as head boys cross country coach at DCG High School and assistant girls track coach at Waukee High School.  He has also put on the "Run for Fun in the Sun" Camp through Grimes Parks and Recreation since 2011.  He will be assisted by his wife, Heidi, as well as Heather Droppert, wife of DCG head girls cross country coach Justin Droppert.
