Youth Flag Football 6v6 Tournament
 
Date: Sunday, October 23, 2011
*Deadline is Tuesday, October 18 at Noon.
Time:

Games could run from 1:30pm-6:30pm depending on the # of teams.
Schedule will be sent out October 19.

Who:

One Division- Grades 2 and Under

Cost: $50 per team (Guaranteed at least 2 games.)
Top two teams will receive medals.
Location: Lions Park in Grimes (North of Kum and Go on Hwy 44), Turn north on Little Beaver Drive
Parking lots are located on the south side and north side of the park.  You can also park on the side streets to the west of the park.

Description: Grimes Parks and Recreation will supervise and coordinate the schedules for this tournament. We will also provide flag belts, scoreboards, officials, and footballs. 

Basic Rules-
1. Two twenty minute halves.  Clock is a running clock until the last 2 minutes of the 2nd half.  Six on six with subs as needed.
2. Two time-outs per half are allowed.
3. Screen blocking only.  No pushing and minimal contact allowed.  Defense can only cross the line if the ball is handed off.
4. QB can't run on a pass play.  Have a 5-second window to pass the ball, otherwise the play is ruled dead.  QBs can run with the ball on a designed run.
5. Touchdowns are worth 6 points.  Extra point line- 1 pointer or 2 pointer.
6. No Kick-offs or punts.  Fumbles are marked dead at the spot of the fumble.  Interceptions are allowed and can be returned.
7. Smaller 40 yard fields allows for more scoring.  Every 10 yards is a first down.
8. Players should wear matching jerseys and they must be tucked in with the flag belts worn on the outside of their jerseys.
9.  Fans will want to bring their own lawn chairs and water bottles.
10. Sportsmanship will be stressed throughout the tournament.
